Il rinforzo strutturale degli edifici esistenti rappresenta oggi un tema centrale nell’ambito della riqualificazione del patrimonio edilizio, soprattutto in presenza di costruzioni storiche o realizzate con tecniche tradizionali. Tra le soluzioni più efficaci e consolidate rientra l’intervento di rinforzo delle pareti portanti mediante intonaco armato, una tecnica capace di migliorare significativamente la sicurezza strutturale senza alterare in modo invasivo l’organismo edilizio.
Nella ristrutturazione dell’Hotel Giulio Cesare a Rapallo, Teicos sceglie di utilizzare il sistema che prevede l’utilizzo di intonaco armato, mediante l’applicazione di malta strutturale premiscelata a base di calce e armata con rete in fibra di vetro, opportunamente connessa alla muratura esistente tramite sistemi di ancoraggio. Questa lavorazione consente di incrementare la resistenza meccanica, la capacità portante e il comportamento globale della muratura, migliorandone in particolare la risposta alle azioni orizzontali, come quelle sismiche.
Nel caso di pareti portanti in muratura, spesso caratterizzate da materiali eterogenei, discontinuità costruttive o degrado dovuto al tempo, l’intonaco armato svolge una duplice funzione: da un lato consolida e ricompone la muratura, dall’altro crea un vero e proprio “guscio resistente” capace di collaborare con la struttura esistente. L’intervento è stato eseguito in funzione delle esigenze progettuali e delle verifiche strutturali sia su un unico lato che su entrambi i lati delle pareti.
Dal punto di vista operativo, il processo ha previsto una prima fase di preparazione del supporto, con pulizia delle superfici e rimozione delle parti incoerenti, seguita dalla posa delle reti di armatura e dei connettori. Successivamente è stata applicata la malta strutturale, che ha inglobato l’armatura garantendo l’adesione e la continuità dell’intervento.
Il risultato finale è una parete rinforzata, più compatta e performante, senza modificare in modo significativo gli spessori o l’aspetto originario dell’edificio.
